About this deal

EV50M is a super high quality product, works very well and reliably. For about a month of use, I've never had such a single failure on anything with this system (unlike e.g. JBL). Also the mobile app is very reliable and well working. Kudos EV for the high quality product. You would expect any product of this type, brand and price to be well designed and to sound great for its intended purpose, which it does, but often it’s the little practical things that can make the difference. I didn’t find any aspect of the Evolve 50M impractical, annoying, or disappointing — this is a system that delivers all that is promised. In use, it is easy to use and will keep producing output if app control is lost for any reason. The Evolve 50M has far too many settings, features and user options to go into here, but I did experiment with the overall system EQ presets (the ‘Mode’ setting), which offer a choice between Live, Speech, Club and the default Music mode. No prizes for guessing roughly what these do, but my personal default mode would always be Live as this is the ‘neutral’ setting. Practical PA

Aufbau - ist innerhalb von 1ner Minute erledigt. Keine extra Kabel vom Sub zur Säule nötig. Alle Anschlüsse gut zugänglich. I, like Mr. Scott, also have two Evolve 50 speakers. And for me, it's the best speaker system I've ever owned in my life. Before purchasing them, I had the Turbosound IP2000. The sound quality just wasn't there. Returned them. Listened to just about every line array system including JBL, Bose, RCF, Peavey (which I also used to own), and let me tell you, my boy... the Evolve 50 blows them all away. And if you think that I'm exaggerating, I'm sure Mr. Scott can confirm that. Achtung: Die ersten 4 Mikro / Line Eingänge haben eine dauernde 15V Phantomspeisung per XLR; per Klinke liegt keine Phantomspannung an. The processing engine allows for easy setup via four presets (Music, Live, Speech, and Club), three-band EQ, five user-programmable presets (Store and Recall settings), output delay, phantom power (+15V), visual monitoring of limiter status, input level control and meters, and master volume control to ensure optimal gain structure.Visual monitoring of limiter status, input level control and meters, and master volume control ensure optimal gain structure The bi-directional aluminum pole’s connection to the subwoofer is secured using a magnet, and the column array is gravity-held to the sub pole. The signal is internally routed to the components. Need a new PA system? This handy bundle comes with two Electro Voice Evolve 50 Portable Column Arrays as well as subwoofer covers and cables for both! Here's what Electro Voice say about the EV Evolve 50 Portable Column Array Active PA System: EV says the lower phantom power is designed for the lower power requirements of condenser microphones, and restricted so it doesn’t blow up your mixer outputs if you happen to plug one in while phantom is on. It’s a fair enough call, but I still think if you’re going to have phantom power onboard, it may as well work. Rounding out the input section, the screen defaults to show input meters for all three channels. It’s a nice touch to see whether you’re peaking. TEETH TO IT Easy setup via four presets (Music, Live, Speech, Club), three band EQ, five user programmable presets, output delay, phantom power, input level control and metering, and master volume control to optimize gain structure. Specifications:

All the controls are integrated into the mixer section, which includes DSP for setting the voicing, making key adjustments and, in multi-speaker systems, entering any necessary delay to compensate for a maximum of 100 metres of spacing. A simple one-knob/turn-and-press system is used to navigate and adjust the DSP parameters. Ich hatte vor Jahren schon mal die damalige Bose, Yamaha u.a. Säulen gehört und war gar nicht begeistert. A man wanted to do a Bob Dylan song (I forgot which one), when he was done, he looked at me and said "wow, I can actually hear the guitar and harmonica". Needless to say, he was impressed. And this was a song he's sang at other places. Apparently, those other speakers didn't bring out the details, harmonics, and nuances in the music like the Evolve 50 does.

I've seen him perform many times when I'm not performing and he usually performed with a Bose system (top of line) or QSC K-12.2s and a sub for larger gigs. Not on this day. The system consists of a 15 mm wooden, ported, powered subwoofer enclosure that houses a 12” subwoofer capable of a functional frequency output down to 37 Hz.
