About this deal

The story had me hooked from the beginning, it was sad but interesting, and as it progressed I grew to enjoy it even more. It had its more light-hearted moments reminding us What I assumed was just Fujimoto talking about a dead relative turned into a story showcasing his obvious love of Nov 25 i☆Ris the Movie - Full Energy!! - Anime Film Teaser Visual Revealed at i☆Ris Live Stage in Anime NYC & i☆Ris First Performance in New York Successfully Completed The Not-Love Interest: Despite a similar structure to a love story, Eri claims she only loves Yuta's movies, not him personally (in a romantic way), though Yuta may have had unrequited feelings. However, the fictional vampire Eri is Promoted to Love Interest in the film Yuta makes about them. As well, the "real" vampire Eri points out that the film itself is a monument to Eri's love for him and vice versa, so even if they never officially dated and weren't romantically involved, their love for each other was real.

It seems that Fujimoto loves to choose certain themes in his manga and loosely squeeze them into his story. Aside from adding color, I have to say that such add-ons are unnecessary. No Fourth Wall: A huge element of the story is the overlap between fiction and reality. Since we see everything from the perspective of Yuta's phone, there's the very real possibility that the entire story is a narrative Yuta himself is making. Notably, the manga pulls a Proscenium Reveal of Yuta's class watching his film twice, with the second time revealing the entire story with Eri we saw was the film he ended up making. The final panel of the story is potentially a third one of these, with the real-world audience taking the place of the school. Yuta. Yuta, listen. I want you to… I want you to start shooting videos of me. On video, you can hear my voice and see me move. That way, even if I’m gone, you can still remember me. Can you do that for me?” Beware. You should never really be attached to any of his characters because you'll be badly hurt in the end. Soon, when I read a manga without glancing at the author's name, I'd definitely know it's from sensei. Only Fujimoto can lift us just to pull us down forcefully and swiftly like nothing happened.Cayanan, Joanna (March 27, 2023). "Minoru Toyoda's Kore Kaite Shine Manga Wins 16th Manga Taisho Awards". Anime News Network. Archived from the original on March 27, 2023 . Retrieved March 27, 2023. We can think that it was added with the intention of showing the beauty of life and movies. When we examine Eri, we realize that she is actually a nice side character.

going to be trying to remember people even after they die, why do you choose a terrible story start? When you compare the beginning of the story with the course of the story, there are big differences. Themes worth telling have been chosen, but the starting points are inappropriate. Fujimoto Tatsuki has what I can now distinguish as a very peculiar and distinct brand of writing that is both beautifully touching and dismayingly bizarre. It works well but it always leaves me with a knot of emotions and thoughts over his works.Goodbye Eri brings up excellent questions that I ask myself frequently these days: where do we draw the line between the usage of fiction as a medium of enjoyment versus one of complete escapism? This overarching question feels almost like a continuation of Togata's character from his previous series Fire Punch. It's difficult for me to place into words the significance of film and media, including manga, in my own life, but Fujimoto does it for me across all of his works to date. The stories we love serve as extensions and continuations of ourselves, across years, cultures, and stages of life. It turns out that Yuta's mother wanted herself to be filmed in the best possible light and was actually abusive towards Yuta and his father. Amateur Filmmaking Plot: The whole story is Yuta making different films with his smartphone as an integral part of his life. Promoted to Love Interest: In-Universe, the real Eri rejects Yuta when he asks her out, but the Eri within Yuta's documentary is played as a love interest, and even when they're in her hospital room Eri asks Yuta if they made sure to get footage of their characters kissing. The ending leaves it ambiguous whether Eri really didn't have feelings for Yuta romantically, or if she just wanted to spare both of them the pain of her inevitable death and forgetting about him the next time she's reborn.
