About this deal

Perfect for fans of Sarah Morgan, Laura Kay and Carol - this is sheer festive joy as you've always wanted to see it. And that consciousness around food really does wind its way into so much of your life, especially when you have people around you making comments about their own weight and discomfort around it, especially when they are usually smaller than you, and double especially at holidays based around food.

Filled with characters you’ll fall in love with and dreamy Christmas moments – it’s a festive delight! But Haf doesn't have better holiday plans and to save her new friend from embarrassment, she agrees to pretend to be Christopher's girlfriend for Christmas. I had a lot of fun reading this romance that actually contains a good deal of situation comedy, including a hilarious mishap at the local Christmas fete. When the fake-dating escalates to being invited home to his parents house for Christmas… I mean, maybe that’s a step further than most people would take it? Shoelaces are one of the examples I use most often of apparently simple things that actually aren’t. The perfect cosy Christmas read - sexy, sweet and smart' KIRAN MILLWOOD HARGRAVE'Cosy, Christmassy and wonderfully queer' KATE DAVIES'Joyous' LILY LINDON'A thoroughly modern love story filled with joy, inappropriate Christmas jumpers and a daring reindeer rescue.

The representation throughout the book is incredible and provides such variety, plus each character is more than just their labeled identity.

What happens when your life is just spiraling down, you have no one to spend Christmas with and you have been dubbed someone's girlfriend but don't come clean?

The characters are well drawn and Haf, the fake date guest at Christopher's family mansion, is a delight, getting herself into one scrape after another because she couldn't bear the thought of a lonely Christmas for one. It serves up that cozy and wholesome romantic feeling, that makes you want to download tinder again and pretend like it’s a ‘good idea’. It’s a kind of instinctual primal reaction that she wants to kick him in the back of the knees and run away. Haf and her new friend Christopher end up fake dating and spending christmas at his parents house in Oxlea.Lizzie Huxley-Jones really captured the power of instantly connecting with someone, and the closeness of friend-attraction. Make You Mine This Christmas follows Haf, a fat ecologist who is battling burnout due to an awful job. The bestselling LGBTQ+ graphic novel about life, love, and everything that happens in between: this is the fifth volume of the Heartstopper series. We only see the characters from the back, yet to the reader, it’s very obvious who each of them is supposed to be.

Joyous, funny and full of warm, relatable characters, this is the queer Christmas rom-com I've been waiting for' LAURA KAY It's the golden rule of pretending to be someone's girlfriend: don't fall for their sister. Rep: Haf is white, fat and bisexual and has face blindness, Kit is white and lesbian and is disabled (uses a walking cane), Christopher is white and bisexual, Ambrose is Chinese-British (please forgive me if I got this wrong, I scoured for concrete proof, but all I saw was "Lunar New Year" and their surname is Liew) and non-binary. I know I read this in the middle of spooky season, but this cosy sapphic Christmas romance is warm and funny and truly the perfect queer holiday read. Let us tell you something horrifying (or exciting, depending on how you view this) – Christmas is actually just around the corner!Neither sibling seems able to be entirely honest with or able to stand up to their wealthy, but well-meaning parents, who welcome Haf into the family with open arms. There is so much to love about this book - the way that Haf loves everything with her whole heart, to the way she and Kit had such a perfect meet cute. I’d love to say my favourite scene is Haf and Kit’s first kiss, but to be honest, I remember the quest for the lost baby reindeer much better. It was the first queer Christmas film I’d ever seen, and it got me thinking about what if I wrote a rompy, chaotic, good-feelings romcom, like so many of the movies and books with a central heterosexual relationship that come out every year?
